Le Pied Marin Production is a Quebec production company founded in 2009 which is focused on cinema. Young, passionate and creative, the Pied Marin team is led by two strong and talented women from Quebec’s Îles-de-la-Madeleine region, who oversee projects of all scopes and sizes by emerging and innovative artists. Their global approach means they’re involved at every step of the movie-making process, from conception and design to post-production. They have big dreams to match their ambitions, working hard to establish themselves as a reference in the film production industry, and hope to connect with a global audience. Their mission is to guide young creators on their artistic voyages, helping them stay balanced and stable even in the stormiest waters.
From the first meeting with the client, their passion, enthusiasm and love of their craft was contagious. Their youth, energy and creative vision came through in every conversation. We decided that the branding had to reflect this authenticity, freshness and joy, and translate into every touchpoint of their visual identity. It was also important to pay homage to the founder’s creative roots and open spirit, owing much to their origins in Quebec’s Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
The creative direction of the branding is inspired by the landscape and open spirit of les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, and centers around the idea of navigation: guiding young creators on their artistic voyages, helping them stay balanced and stable even in the stormiest waters.
We kept the brand elements simple: electric blue to emulate the expansion of unchartered waters, hand-drawn waves with a hidden written message, subtle iconography referencing sea navigation codes, a strong simple typeface (Conduit), touches of red inspired by lighthouse signals, and straightforward, engaging copywriting.
We created an identity that conveys creativity and fun; it’s carefully curated to re-inforce the notion that no matter how big or small a project they take on is, they are able to see it through from beginning to completion in a fun, collaborative and creative fashion.
